2023 OzChin Quiz Bowl

RATIONALE

The OzChin Quiz Bowl for Chinese language students is a fun and engaging event that aims to foster intellectual curiosity and academic achievement. Covering topics related to the Chinese language and general knowledge, this quiz night encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication. By participating in the OzChin Quiz Bowl, students have the opportunity to showcase their skills, learn new things, and build their confidence in a friendly and competitive environment.

ELIGIBILITY

Students who are interested in the Chinese language and culture and attend a South Australian Public, Independent, Catholic, or Community school are eligible to participate in this quiz night.

ENTRY FEE 

• $5 per student (student of CLTASA member teachers)

• $15 per student (student of non-CLTASA member teachers)

       (Dinner, drinks, snacks, and prizes are included.)

First Language Learner

Years 10-12 First Language Learners and/or Background Language Learners (Chinese Second Language Learners with a cultural or linguistic background in Chinese).

• Venue: Bickersteth (junior school administration), St Peter's College (Download the MAP here)

• Deadline for registration: Monday 6th March 2023

• Registration: Please register via email and indicate the number of students to Fangfang Qiu fqiu@stpeters.sa.edu.au

• Quiz Format: Detailed information will be provided to participants closer to the event date by Fangfang Qiu. 

      

PRIZES

Certificates and surprise gift packs will be awarded to the top-winning teams.

FOOD

A packed dinner, soft drinks, and snacks will be provided. Due to time constraints, we are unable to provide special dietary accommodations.

Please bring your own water bottles to help reduce plastic waste.

 

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT

To register, please send an email to Ms Fangfang Qiu (fqiu@stpeters.sa.edu.au) with your name and the number of participating students by Friday, March 10, 2023. After receiving your registration information from Fangfang Qiu, CLTASA will email an invoice to you for all registered students.

PHOTOGRAPHY PERMISSION FORM

School teachers are responsible for collecting the photo consent form (please download the form here for each student before participating in the OzChin Quiz Bowl and emailing all forms to info@cltasa.org.
