Kathy Purvis Honoured with Two Awards at the 2022 World Teachers’ Day Gala

On 19 September 2022, the CLTASA Committee nominated Kathy Purvis for recognition by Educators SA in acknowledgement of her exceptional service and contributions to the Association over more than a decade.
At the 2022 World Teachers’ Day Gala, hosted by Educators SA on 28 October 2022, Kathy was honoured with the following two awards:
Chinese Language Teachers’ Association of South Australia Outstanding Service Award
World Education Forum Award for Outstanding Contribution to Intercultural and Global Understanding 2022
The World Education Forum Award was accompanied by a prize of A$2,000, generously provided by the World Education Forum.
According to the 25th Anniversary Book of the Australian Chinese Teachers Association, Kathy joined the CLTASA Committee in 2008. She later served as Co-President of the Association for two consecutive terms, from 2017 to 2018 and from 2018 to 2019.
Over 14 years of service, Kathy made an outstanding contribution to the development of CLTASA through her dedication, experience and commitment to Chinese language education. She concluded her service as a member of the CLTASA Committee on 21 October 2022.
The CLTASA Committee warmly congratulates Kathy on receiving these well-deserved awards and sincerely thanks her for her many years of dedicated service to the Association and the wider Chinese language education community.
