Staying True, Innovating with Purpose:

Reclaiming the Core of Chinese Teaching in the Age of AI

Yearly Overview content and design by Mingxia Wei.

The Chinese Language Teachers Association of South Australia (CLTASA) warmly invites you to attend its 2026 Annual Conference.

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape educational landscapes, this year’s conference invites Chinese language educators to pause, reflect, and reaffirm what must remain at the heart of our profession. In an era of rapid technological change, we are called not simply to adopt new tools, but to stay true to the fundamental purpose of teaching—centering students, strengthening essential knowledge and skills, and cultivating learners through meaningful, purposeful instruction.

This conference will bring together educators from across South Australia to explore how innovation can be guided by intention and grounded in educational integrity. Through keynote presentations, practical workshops, and professional dialogue, participants will examine how AI can support—rather than overshadow—the core work of Chinese language teaching: building linguistic competence, cultural understanding, and confident communicators.

Whether you are a seasoned teacher or at the beginning of your professional journey, this gathering offers an opportunity to reconnect with the essence of our discipline, refine pedagogical practice, and collaborate with colleagues committed to excellence in student learning.

Join us for a day of thoughtful reflection, purposeful innovation, and renewed commitment to the core mission of Chinese language education.

Registration is open to all educators, including CLTASA Full Members, Pre-service Members, and non-members
