The South Australian Chinese Outstanding Student Awards recognise students who demonstrate a strong enthusiasm for learning Chinese and a genuine knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture.
Students may be nominated in one of three categories: Chinese as a Second Language, Chinese as a Background Language (Heritage) or Chinese as a First Language.
Nominees do not necessarily need to be the highest-achieving students academically; they should demonstrate commitment to their Chinese studies and meaningful engagement with Chinese language and culture.
Each school may nominate one primary student and one secondary student in each category, allowing an R–12 school to nominate up to six students. Each student may be nominated only once and cannot be nominated by more than one school.
Nominations must be submitted by the student’s Chinese teacher through the registration link by the published deadline. Following submission, CLTASA will issue an invoice covering all nominated students, and the school must arrange payment by the due date shown on the invoice.
